RONGTON BUDDHIST CENTRE Incorporated
Rongton Buddhist Centre is a not for profit organisation, and part of a national network of centres established under the Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, with Lama Choedak Rinpoche as its spiritual head. Established in 2004, the Rongton Buddhist Centre was named after a celebrated 15th century Tibetan Buddhist scholar Rongton Sheja Kunrig, who also founded the renowned Nalendra monastry outside Tibet's capital, Lhasa.

Our centre offers a weekly teaching & practice schedule, including classes in Introduction to Calm Abiding Meditation, for those who wish to discover and develop their inner potential. Calm Abiding Meditation requires no Buddhist commitment and is suitable for all.

"A life of only a single day spent in meditation conjoined with wisdom is better than living a hundred years unbalanced and confused."

  - The Tibetan Dhammapada

Rongton Buddhist Centre hosts retreats and teachings by Lama Choedak Rinpoche throughout the year, as well as hosting visits by other highly qualified teachers within the Sakya tradition. We also warmly welcome teachers from all Buddhist traditions.

Please check "Noticeboard" for up and coming visits for 2011.
 Quote for the Month:

Your mind is like a magical gem
Manifesting all that is -
From samsara to nirvana.
Since knowing and unknowing form a duality,
Gaze deep into the changeless space
Of mind's true nature
And discover the source of all duality;
Nondual space is without substance,
Thus all experience is an illusion.
Discover how we are bound by delusive desire.
